290. CHINA MADE WATCH WINDER WITH STORAGE

By: dmans

A watch winder winds your automatic watch saving you time and effort. It rotates the watch slowly, causing the rotor inside to spin, winds the mainspring, readying the watch whenever you desire to wear.

Picked up this double-watch winder or rotator during my recent visit to Shanghai.

Was attracted by the neat and clean finished, an indication that a lot of effort has gone into completing this finished product. The black colour exudes a kind of grandeur look comparable to Western-made.

The winder accommodates the winding of two automatic watches at one time with double storage compartments.

Just wanted to try out China made products which have tremendously improved quality wise.

Tried a few Swiss vintage watches on it and it rotated pretty well, smooth and silent. Durability wise, only time will tell...

Specifications:

Case: Piano black wooden box

Inner: Genuine black leather

Size (mm): 180 x 210 x 225

Latch with lock and key

Dual powered winder ; AC Adapter and batteries

236. COMING SOON- NEW MODELS FROM THE HOUSE OF LONGINES

It has been slightly over a year since the first wrist watch was featured on this blog on 15th December 2009. What started as a window to showcase vintage and pre-owned watches, this blog has since moved on to feature new timepieces of affordable range, medium cost right to the high-enders at reasonable prices.

For the 2010, new original and authentic models from the houses of Panerai, Rolex, Vulcain, Frederick Constant, Certina, Doxa, Epos, Edox, Ingersoll, Luminox, Maurice Lacroix, Mido, Rado, Tissot, Orient, Seiko and Expedition were added to provide more colours, choices and variations to suit different tastes, styles and preferences.

Eventually the TW Steel fashionable series were brought in during the later part of 2010 and early 2011 to cater for the needs of the young and trendy professionals.

Pre-owned watches of the famous and glamorous names like Breitling, Corum, Franck Muller, Glasshutte, IWC, and Jaeger Le Coultre were featured prominently on various occasions. In fact Rolex and Omega models have been regular and permanent features.

I am very excited and extremely thrilled with the overwhelming support from buyers, potential buyers and visitors, both the loyal and new ones. All avenues are explored in search of new dimensions to make this blog an interest stop and shop for all range of visitors and potential buyers to browse through entertaining our common hobby in horology.

On that note, it is a pleasure to announce that new models from the house of Longines will make their appearance very soon. Many new models will be displayed on a regular basis from time to time.

Rest assured that prices offered for these new, authentic and original timepieces will be as competitive as always.

I humbly record my sincerest appreciation and gratitude for the tremendous support received.

Please continue to visit and frequent this blog on regular basis.

Do spend more time to peruse through the displays, enjoy the exhibits before making your selections on the timepieces you desire…and of course I look forward to more comments for mutual benefits.

THANK YOU ALL…

195. OF WEDDING BELLS, WATCHES AND CLOCKS...

Looking at my diary, practically all Saturdays and Sundays are now fully booked for wedding receptions, starting from mid-Syawal right up to Zulkaedah. I’m real glad to receive those invitations and always try to make time to attend irrespective of the distance.

The only drawback now is I’m still feeling lethargic and tire very fast especially after driving long distance. I guess I still need another couple of months more to fully recover from my illness.

Back to the wedding occasions, I always have difficulty choosing the right present. Perhaps that’s the reason why I noticed most people are now opting to give cash or ‘angpow’ as wedding presents.

Maybe I’m kind of old fashion that prefers to give wedding presents to friends. The only problem is I tend to choose clocks or watches.

Balik-balik jam gak...

One clock that I love very much is the CITIZEN neo-classical clock, purchased from an old watch merchant shop in Ipoh last year. At 2 kg, it’s kind of heavy, solid and intricately designed.Apparently, CITIZEN of Japan has since ceased production of clocks concentrating on wrist watches.

When we purchased that neo-classical clock last year, we were told that was the last piece available. Recently, another similar new piece, the twin brother, appeared at the same shop .

I thought it might be a nice and fitting to purchase and hand over the twin brother as the wedding present to my friend, CLASSIC MALAYA, a fellow blogger who is having his wedding reception this Sunday, 17 October 2010 in Kuala Lumpur.

SELAMAT PENGANTIN BARU kepada Sdr Ram Sulaiman dan Elina.

Semoga dikurniakan kebahagiaan, ditingkatkan rezeki dan kesejahteraan yang berkekalan...

184. THANK YOU ALL...

Thank God the Almighty, I'm back to normal health...and back to work.

Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes from relatives and friends from near and far.

It was an experience of a lifetime sitting at the hospital bed gazing at the ceiling wondering at all the good things missed and lost.

It was tear jerking time celebrating hari raya at the hospital with all the hospital staff on duty while softly reciting the takbir raya.

Those are the moments that set one to wonder and ponder at the wonderful opportunities and the well-beings that have been taken for granted.

It is indeed true that in those moments of misfortune, one tends to see a lot of things from different perspectives.

I'm learning to be a better man...

Still, I'm blessed to have a loving family and very caring friends.

Syukur Alhamdulillah...

183. EID MUBARAK...FROM MY HOSPITAL BED

To all my relatives, Muslim friends and visitors around the world, may I take this opportunity to wish everyone "Happy Eid Mubarak" .

Today is my fifth day at the hospital and my first time celebrating the 'Aidilfitri from a hospital bed.

I'm recuperating well and hopefully in a day or two I'll be back home.

Streams of visitors popping in have propped my spirit up. The doctors and medical crew of this hospital have been marvellous.

Thanks Ayah and Ibu for being close by...thanks Angah, Fatin and Ili for the support and concern

...and to the special one who always make time for daily visitations no matter how tired she might be. I'm so touched.

SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI...MAAF ZAHIR BATIN

181. A SURPRISE GESTURE AND AN EXQUISITE GIFT...

I dropped by a couple of Friday ago at my auntie’s place in Bangsar KL. Just to deliver her Omega watch which I helped to restore and to bid farewell to her and the family before they head home to Shanghai.

We had a chat while waiting for my uncle to come back. He was somewhere in town clearing a few last minutes matters.

These days my conversations with Mak Teh are mostly centred on watches and watches. She has a passion for watches too but her love for genuine antiquities surpassed everything else.

In pursuit of her antiquities passion, she has travelled to many nooks and corners in Malaysia and the world.

We were still at the conversation when she said she had something to hand over to me. Something she bought from her recent trip to Dubai. Actually, I consider her as a globe trotter. In the course of discharging her international duties, she is constantly on the move around the world.

While she was away fetching ‘that something’, I was wondering what it could be except perhaps a wrist watch to add to my collections.

She brought back a small box and handed to me and asked me to open. Without hesitation, gleefully I opened the box.

Wow, what a nice one. Out came a glittering skeletal gold plated pocket watch. I had never own a pocket watch before though my pa possessed a few priceless collectibles.

Never mind the brand... the gesture that counts. After all, it was my birthday week. So, I consider this gift as a fitting birthday present.

Thanks Mak Teh for such a gorgeous gift.

I’ll cherish the moment and this special gift for the life time.

SELAMAT HARI RAYA TO YOU, PAK TEH, AIMAN, SARAH, ARIFF AND ADAM.

WE WILL MISS YOU AND THE FAMILY AGAIN THIS HARI RAYA...MAAF ZAHIR BATIN and take care.

163. MINIMAL POSTINGS IN JULY...

This blog recorded a miserable number of eight entries for July 2010, the lowest monthly postings during the year. It was not intentional or for lack of materials.

Time has been the real constraint as I have many other business ventures to attend to especially attending to my rejuvenate private life and my new role as the Perak Distributor to a brand new product launched in Malaysia early in the year. Balancing between business ventures, personal life, sporting activities, social networking and community services is a daunting task but I am thoroughly enjoying every single moment.

To be more efficient, I know I need to be more focus and address my daily schedule in a proper perspective.

The proper perspective means organising activities with proper plan, organisation and execution through a proper priority ranking listing. Well, I am learning to do just that and God willing, I’ll make space and time to come up with more postings in August and the months thereafter while attending to my personal life and other business ventures.

Nonetheless, I must take this opportunity to thank all the loyal visitors and new visitors to this blog. The counter is fast approaching the 40,000 visitors from 125 countries worldwide and 66.9 % of those visitors coming outside Malaysia. I truly appreciate all the support.

Not bad, eh for a brash young watch novice...

THANK YOU ALL

162. A NEW TISSOT COUTURIER FOR A NEW VENTURE...

There were many instances when friends asked for ideas on original watches to purchase as gifts. There were also instances when friends called to source for specific new original Swiss models just released on the market with intention to procure. I have no qualm about meeting such requests even at the minimal or nil margins. What is more paramount is the friendship developed.

Friends do acknowledge that I only entertain requests for original watches, be it Swiss, Japanese, German or Italian. So, they confined themselves within that territory and never at a moment venture into the replica zone. I just despise replica and fakes especially those people who idolised replicas to the extent of using replicas to do reviews of established brands and models as if they are originals and genuine. What a shameless and despicable act!

Homage is a different matter as it carries its own brand name and not trying to disguise otherwise.

Back to the friends requests of sourcing watches for gifts. Last week I received a request from a very close friend of mine to recommend him a suitable Swiss watch for a gift to a valuable employee who is opting out for a new venture.

I scouted around for a reasonably good watch to his technical and financial specifications and managed to prise one brand new unit of Tissot Couturier from a friendly store who is an authorized Tissot dealer to the specifications script.

Felt elated when the choice was well received. Got the watch engraved and completed the handover.

Glad to do service to friends especially knowing that your little gestures are highly appreciated...

159. JUST LIKE TO SHARE...

Just like to share a quite interesting news I picked up from Malaysian Mirror website. (http://www.malaysianmirror.com/nationaldetail/6-national/43569-policewoman-caught-with-2000-fake-watches-)

Policewoman looking at doing time

Monday, 21 June 2010

RANTAU PANJANG – A tip-off led to the arrest of a senior policewoman who was caught with eight bags of fake watches worth over RM100,000.

A man in his 60s who was with her was also detained in the raid here yesterday.

The police officer in her 30s was picked up while parking her car in the street at 2.45 pm, said General Operations Force (GOC) 9 assistant commanding officer DSP Mohamad Latiff.

"Acting on a tip-off, we kept the car driven by the police officer under surveillance before we moved in.

Made in China

"We arrested the police officer and her male passenger in his 60s," Mohamad told reporters here yesterday.

Upon inspection, the GOC found the bags of fake watches, with each valued at between RM 15 and RM 150.

He said the watches, which were believed to be smuggled from China through Thailand, would be handed over to enforcement division of the Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Ministry.

Comment:

If this case is proven in the Malaysian court of law, it would tarnish our beloved country's image...imagine government officers smuggling imitation items.

I sincerely hope no government officers are involved in peddling imitation items online or otherwise.

144.THESE HAPPY DAYS.../ HARI-HARI GEMBIRA...

It was drizzling when I sent my mom to her college in Gopeng early this morning. Her car has been stuck at the college parking lot due to some technicalities awaiting collection by our regular foreman. So, for the second consecutive day I played chauffeur. Don’t really mind, at least I can share some light moments with mom along the journey.

The rain has stopped on my way back and the sun started shining with the clear blue sky. I felt very cheerful these few days although my program of going to the gym to burn the obvious kilos of fats around the waist is long pending.

There are many reasons to feel joyous:

  • Received a parcel from Ijan Jamlama this afternoon containing a piece of G-Shock watch. Put it on my wrist, looked cool and should be suitable for daily 'belasahan'.

Still wearing it as I write this article. Though I’m a seller, I do once in a while purchase from fellow bloggers to enhance interrelationship. Honestly, it’s VFM (value for money). Thanks Ijan. Good job in “poisoning” (persuading) me to have at least one Casio G – Shock in my collection.

  • Got invited to participate in Langkawi Paintball Competition in a fortnight's time. Chance to polish our teamwork, meet new friends, get new contacts and hopefully a chance to wear new gears too. Wow, these paintball competitions in Kedah are really setting my adrenalin going. Wonder why my home state, Perak, is so quiet, huh.

  • Received many new local and overseas inquiries lately. In fact one buyer is coming back from UK to Malaysia and will stop by in Ipoh later this month to collect an item booked. To a new online trader like me, all inquiries are good inquiries for they established new avenues, frontiers and possibilities...and of course new friends. Thanks folks.
  • Pioneer blogger Jamkoleksi has reappeared on the radar screen.

The best of all today is the deal on a piece of ladies Rolex concluded just after four and half hours of display...and that includes the time for verification of authenticity by Rolex authorised dealer. It is kind of a record for this blog. I thank GOD the Almighty for the generosity. Hopefully this kind of deal will keep on repeating.

There are other pieces of potential good happenings too but I’m not saying...just yet.

Thanks for the support. Cheriooo

HARI-HARI GEMBIRA KINI...

Hujan dah teduh masa perjalanan pulang. Minggu ni memang terasa seronok sangat. Banyak berita gembira, banyak keje siap walau pun program nak masuk Gym, bakar lemak yang udah berkilo gendut lama sangat tertangguh. Nak kene cari motivation baru...

Cheriooo
