Captain Philip van Horn Weems developed the ingenious Weems System of Navigation which required a watch to provide exact Greenwich mean time.

Today, the Longines Weems Second Setting Watch, a mechanical timepiece with rotating central dial, pays tribute to this decisive invention and its creator.


Case: Round, in stainless steel

Dial: External white lacquered dial featuring 12 stamped black Arabic numerals and internal silvered opaline dial with black printed minutes indications and blued "Breguet" hands.

Diameter: 47.50 mm.

Crystal: scratch-resistant sapphire crystal

Functions: Hours, minutes, seconds, internal rotating silvered dial for synchronization of the seconds hand with a radio time signal.

Case back: Stamped that opens to reveal a transparent case back with sapphire crystal.
